Luggage and material transport, airport transfers or shuttle rides between the venues – Stefan Goes and his team of helpers for “Transport and Special Events” are responsible for all of this at the Travemünder Woche. Although this year, for the first time, the volunteers can also travel from A to B on an e-bike with trailer, cars are still necessary for quite a few tours. Goes is therefore pleased that Autohaus Hansa Nord has again supported the Travemünder Woche this year with four shuttle vehicles.
Already since 2016, the dealership has provided four to five vehicles for shuttle trips during the event, depending on demand. “The cooperation with Sales Manager Florian Will always works out very well. This year, at our request, he provided us with four spacious, powerful and also very comfortable cars. We used them extensively for the shuttle service for race committee, jury and management between the regatta office and the outposts Grünstrand, Mövenstein and Priwall, for material purchase and distribution,” says Stefan Goes. The transfer of RIBs to and from the rental companies and friendly sailing clubs in surrounding sailing cities such as Hamburg, Kiel, Warnemünde would also be handled by the cars, as would the transfer of race officials and members of the jury to and from the airports and train stations in Hamburg and Lübeck.
“Without the vehicles, the Travemünder Woche would not run so smoothly in the background.We need a carpool that is available every minute from 8 am to 8 pm and whose vehicles are suitable both as working equipment for material and RIBs and as appropriate, comfortable limousines for our race committee and jury members. Therefore, we are very happy about the trustful and pragmatic cooperation with our loyal partner, Autohaus Hansa Nord,” says Head of Driving Services Stefan Goes, emphasizing the importance of the cars for the sailing week.
