The Travemünde Week
from 21-30 July 2023
World-class regatta sailing meets a maritime festival with a lot of heart. When the who’s who of international sailing meets in Travemünde every year, the spectators are there live and experience the thrilling races on the waves of the Baltic Sea at close quarters from the lively promenades. The “WE” is written in capital letters here: The town and the events merge, Travemünde residents, local clubs and associations enrich the Travemünde Week with their creativity. Cosmopolitanism and internationality characterise the seaside resort as a meeting place for top athletes from many nations – without a care in the world.

Show sailing in the Trave
MUst-See
Sailing and festival as one: Nowhere else do the visitors of the festival get closer to sailing than during the Travemünde Week. The arrival and departure of the yachts and dinghies in the Trave, the mooring and casting off at Priwall, Grünstrand or Mövenstein can be experienced directly. The best insights into the action can be had at the Trave Races. From Saturday 22 July to Saturday 29 July, a small fleet of the current TW classes will be sent out on a tight course at around 5pm each afternoon. The short, crisp races are perfectly visible from the Trave promenade and are expertly commented.
The show races also include the regatta appearance of mayor Jan Lindenau. The show races also include the regatta appearance of mayor Jan Lindenau. It’s all about a magnum bottle of wine and, of course, a lot of honour at the Volksbank Rotspon Cup.
