With the reception of the Travemünder Woche the emotional starting signal for the 134. Edition of the regatta and festival week (July 21-30, 2023) fell. Now the concrete preparations are progressing. In cooperation with the Lübeck Travemünde Marketing GmbH the new website for the TW was set up, which emphasizes the connection between the program on the regatta courses and the event mile in a modern design even more. For the sailors, of course, all the important information about the announcement and the registration portal ( manage2sail.com ) are deposited.

The new website was already online for the boot in Düsseldorf, welcoming visitors with a video intro of the new TW symbol figure “Ole” and then directing them to the information. In mid-February, TW Sports Director Jens Kath and Overall Race Director Anderl Denecke uploaded the call for entries and activated the entry portal. “Creating the tender for an event like the Travemünder Woche always requires the highest level of consultation with the class officers and official bodies. As we have a yearly changing program, it is not a standard work. Due to the hosting of the different championships and needs of the classes, many meetings with the class associations about the wishes of the sailors and the requirements for the hosting are necessary,” say Jens Kath and Anderl Denecke.
20 different regattas offer a wide range of formats

“We see ourselves as a service provider for the sailors. This year we have 20 different regattas with a wide range of formats. This ranges from the usual triangular regattas to offshore long distance to the up-and-downs of the fast skiff and cat classes and the speed races of the kite-foilers as well as the special requirements of league sailing,” said the regattas’ organizing duo. “In addition, we also want to provide the sailors with a great ambience on land with the social events. Especially with the receptions on the Passat for the championship classes, we offer something very specific for Travemünde.”
This is obviously honored by the sailors. Even before the opening of the entry portal was officially communicated, entries had been received in various classes. In addition to the regatta program, work is also being done on events for visitors to Travemünde. The festival program is to be published in the spring.
