Danish Gormsen/Thomsen were celebrating the victory at the 49er Youth Worlds
The 122nd Edition of the Travemünde Week ended as it had begun: with a difficult wind and weather conditions. At the first weekend of the TW stormy gusts reduced the racing program to a minimum, at the final no breeze built up for racing, so the 49ers finished their World Junior Championships without a medal race. The Danish Niels Joachim Gormsen/Anders Thomsen were celebrating the victory at this World Cup debut. After cancellation of the races the clouds cleared and gave visitors and participants sunny medal ceremonies and an enjoyable evening that was to be crowned by a spectacular firework. A total of about 800,000 people came to the beautiful sailing regatta, for the Luebeck Yacht Club (LYC) is responsible.
